At a function in Bangalore on 9th March 2006, Dynamatic Aerospace®, a division of Dynamatic Technologies Limited, handed over the first set of Canards for the SU 30 MKI fighter-bomber to Mr. K P Puri, Managing Director (MIG Complex), in the presence of Mr. Ashok Baweja, Chairman, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited.

Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Baweja said “It’s a moment of great pride to see our vision of evolving public-private partnerships take concrete shape. I congratulate all of you engineers, managers and workers on this occasion. You have successfully delivered a structure that provides major maneuverability to India’s Prized Sukhoi 30 MKI. This success is only the first of many in future for Dynamatic Technologies and indeed the entire Indian Private Sector. We are at the beginning of a great growth curve at HAL with major aerospace programs in hand, and we look forward to working closely with private companies like yours that are technically competent and commercially efficient, in jointly taking the Indian Aerospace Industry to new heights.”

The Sukhoi-30 MKI programme is the largest defence project to be undertaken in India. It is being implemented by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, India’s leading Aerospace Company that is wholly owned by the Government of India. HAL is vertically integrated with all major processes and detailed parts production, airframe structures and aircraft integration. HAL has now embarked on an ambitious plan to involve private industry in producing major modules for it.

Mr. K P Puri complimented the Company on successfully absorbing Russian Aerospace technology and processes. He urged everyone present to strive for continuous improvement in achieving excellence. “We do not consider you to be a supplier,” he said, “you are our partner. We are proud of you. Your success is important to us, and helps us in achieving our own objectives. Focus on excellence.”

Dynamatic Aerospace® has now indigenously productionized all major control surfaces for the SU-30 MKI, namely the Vertical and Horizontal stabilizers, Ventral Fins, Slats and canards. Starting with the Canards, it will be delivering all these airframe structures on a continuous basis to HAL to support aircraft production volumes. It will also be taking up production of the Airbrakes next.
