Dynamatic Handover First Set of Airbus A330 Flap Track Beams - Dynamatics News & Events

Dynamatic Handover First Set of Airbus A330 Flap Track Beams

Giving a fillip to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Make in India’ program, on 13th August 2016, Dynamatic and Airbus celebrated the first deliveries of flap track beams for Airbus A330 Long Range Aircraft, at Dynamatic Park, Bangalore.

Airbus has a production rate increase for its A330 Family, consequent to commercial successes of this versatile wide body product line’s popularity with customers around the globe. The Airbus A330 has enjoyed additional commercial success in China, Saudi Arabia and South Africa among other countries. In recent years, there has been a marked increase in Airbus sourcing from India.

Airbus’ A330 Family has five in-service members: the A330-200 and longer-fuselage A330-300 commercial jetliner versions, A330-200F freighter, ACJ330 corporate jet and A330 multi-role tanker transport (MRTT) aircraft; along with two highly-efficient A330neo (New Engine Option) versions in development: the A330-800neo and A330-900neo. The company’s Bremen site is responsible for design and manufacturing of high-lift systems for the wings on all Airbus aircraft.

Since 2008, Dynamatic has been manufacturing Flap Track Beams for Airbus A320 family on a global single-source basis as a tier-2 supplier. Deliveries of these A330 Flap Track Beams will be as a Tier-1 supplier on a global single source basis.

“Airbus partnership with Dynamatic signifies our commitment towards developing the aerospace supply chain in India thereby supporting thousands of highly skilled jobs in India,” says Dr. Srinivasan Dwarakanath, CEO, Airbus India.

Dynamatic is proud of its partnership with Airbus, which has invested considerably in development, training, tooling and quality systems and worked closely with global major aircraft manufacturers to establish advanced manufacturing capabilities in India, which is truly in consonance with the ‘Make in India’ program.

The Flaps on the wings, which are instrumental in controlling the speed, direction and balance of the aircraft, move along high tech guide rails known as the Flap Track Beams. These Flap Track Beams are Class-1 Flight Critical Assemblies that are connected to the wings.

“The Long Range Flap Track Beams order is a significant milestone and validates Dynamatic ability to deliver high quality work in Aeronautic manufacturing and our facilities in India and the UK are completely synchronised with Airbus’s supply chain and geared to meet their expectations. It is a challenge and a great honour.” says Mr. Udayant Malhoutra, CEO & Managing Director, Dynamatic Technologies Limited.
